Carole Nelson has been a media journalist for more than thirty years. Carole's career includes being the first woman to anchor an evening newscast in Central Florida. Anchoring the news for both the ABC affiliate and the CBS affiliate, she was named by a blue ribbon panel as one of the 40 people to shape the history of Orlando. She has also been the host and producer of Florida Lifestyle, Life's Good with Carole Nelson and Transitions. Her radio career includes being a talk show host for WDBO, WWNZ and WKIS in Orlando as well as KVI in Seattle and WMEL in Melbourne Florida. Carole has also produced and hosted programs on politics, the economy and jobs for PBS radio and television stations in Central Florida. During her career as a broadcast journalist she has interviewed: former Presidents Carter, Reagan and Bush; the Reverend Billy Graham, Henry Kissinger, Zig Zigler, Willie Nelson, Tom Hanks, Walter Cronkite and Larry King as well as hundreds of movie and TV stars and authors.
During her career she has taught media and writing courses at The University of Central Florida, Daytona Beach College and The Art Institute of Seattle.
Her column "Changing Places" ran in The Orlando Sentinel and she currently writes a monthly column 'Turning Inside Out' for Senior Scene Magazine. She is currently the host of Carole Nelson Live on WWBC 1510 AM, Wednesday at 10 a.m.
